So yes, this part.

Imagine this.

You are walking around a neon painted forest in the night and you see a gypsy fanning herself as she relaxes comfortably in spotlight. She rests fashionably atop an industrial style motorcycle made of rebar, an oil drum and other mechanical components, created by an innovative artist. A woman is being serenaded in dance a by a nearly naked man in just his pink Calvin Klein underwear.

This was what me and Mimi like to call 'peacocking.'

Peacocking for us was about flaunting our vibrant energies. Not so much in a showing off manner, but more so we could say, 'yeah, yeah we did that.'

When we stumbled upon the motorcycle in the Sherwood Forest. We instantly fell in love. The cycle was featured in the forest as an interactive art display.

To me, it looked like a stage.

The motorcycle was placed near an interesting but busy intersection of the forest. The spotlight really gave a stage-like ambience, especially with the different color illuminations of red, blue, white, green and purple. Walk ways came from several directions.

I said "Mimi! You have to get up on this bike!'

Mimi hopped right on up. She began getting comfortable and started fanning herself. I took a seat on the rear, the oil drum and I quickly began to build up the courage for what I was about to do. Mimi didn't see it coming.

The music was coming from all directions. It was perfect.

So I began dancing around Mimi as she sat on the bike. I mean I was actually doing some stripper shit on this bike.

The sound of Jazz, R&B and Electric just blended so well together. It was quite a euphoric moment.

It wasn't long before we had an audience. We were an attraction. Groups began to sit around us to watch. Many applauding our courage. Several stopped to show love.

I had even managed to earn a dollar by giving a girl a lap dance. It was hysterical. Everyone was quite supportive of what we were doing. It was an epic moment for the both of us.

It was a big roar moment.

A nomadic gypsy with a stripper, performing art, creating visual ambience in the middle of the forest.

This was one for the books.

The following night we went back to the motorcycle and did our own due diligence to watch others interact with this piece of art.

It was wild! Some were afraid of it. You would see some walk by the cycle and even hesitate to take a seat. Or east least watch them think about it.

Only few had enough courage to sit on the bike. When someone did, their confidence roared. It was very pleasing to watch others peacock in their own fashion.

Me and Mimi had to of been sitting there for nearly two hours just watching. We made more friends as we waited our turn. Oh yes.

Once we saw our opportunity, we repeated our stripper-gypsy peacocking one last time in Sherwood Forest.

The night continued with more madness aka raging to music until 5am, just to wake up to the beating sun at 8am to do it all over again. You really couldn't be bored if you tried. There was always something to do or some where to be.

Tripolee

Tripolee is one of the main stages by the entrance. It's not the best photo but if you had been there, you would be able to feel the bass flowing through your body by just looking at this.

Luke and his inspiring festival candy.

It's tradition to create your own 'festival candy' for music festivals. You can use them to trade with other candy holders. It's an act of love, really. You exchange by using a traditional L-O-V-E hand gesture and pass the bracelet you are gifting once your hands are connected. You would just have to see it done. Or go to a festival like EF.

Sherwood Court

Sherwood Court is located just behind Sherwood Forest. Upon exiting the back end of the forest, you open to a large field with more vendors and water stations. Even at 1am, this is was the sight you'd see. Thousands of people hurled together, raging to the sound of machines.

This wild bubble machine.

I really just thought this was a cool photograph.

Standard Camping Grounds

It was HOT. So some needed a ride to and from the forest grounds.

This guy.

This guy was fucking wild. He went all in with his Cat Pizza Galaxy mixing outfit.

This lady.

You were always stumbling across crafty characters like this woman. There were actually several girls dressed in similar costumes. They were beautiful. Anyone tripping on acid surely had a great time.

Speaking of acid...

Before arriving to Electric Forest, I had never participated in psychedelics or MDMA before. So since I was probably at the safest place to try these drugs, I had to see what the fuss was all about. I wanted the perspective.

I say 'safe' like all drugs are safe. I am not saying that.

Electric Forest supplied support staff that was always on stand-by for anyone that was experiencing a 'bad trip' or needed immediate medical assistance. HQ was on top of every possible outcome knowing that drugs would somehow make their way into Electric Forest.

Several people even carried testing kits for drugs that were used as well. It was interesting, yet quite enlightening to see how safe people were being with their drugs. If that can make any possible sense.

After doing some experimenting of my own, I could totally see how anyone could get carried away using those drugs. Psychedelics even more so. They are extremely amplifying to your brain and body.

They will have you running away from your friends to find your own adventure.

You could become your own Disney character.

These drugs might have you assisting security to round up everyone that's remaining in the forest until 5am.

These drugs may convince you that you must make sure everyone exited the forest safely, and be the last one out.

Drugs might have you even dancing on a picnic table at sunrise on 'Main Street' while chanting 'It's all about Electric Forest.'

You could also call you grandmother at 6:30 in the morning just to tell her how much you loved her. Or even one of your closest friends to tell him to quit his job because you 'made it.'

Drugs can really take you places when under the influence. That is, if you use your imagination enough. It's known to be quite scary. But as an adult, I must digress. They are not 100% safe.

I don't want to beef up drug use like it's 'okay.' It's not. However it is so important to make sure that if you do decide to use any substance, please do them in good company and when you are in a healthy mindset.

I am grateful for my experience and I am grateful that I was in the company of others that could both educate and support me.

With that said, be safe users!

Monday morning was rough. Our bodies were beat. Some had not showered for days. Others were using just baby wipes to get by, like myself. Yet everyone had a fucking blast. Smiles and hugs and I love you's were passed around to every neighbor and friend when we said our goodbyes.

While writing this blog, I even hit our EF group message to send some love.

Electric Forest is a place that will always be something extremely special for me. I believe it's special for everyone. We call it home. I can't wait to go back. I can't fucking wait to go back. I am looking forward to it.

Me and Mimi departed and began our 8 hour journey back home.

Once I returned home, I had what we called 'the forest blues' for the next several months. It was like I was stuck in this euphoria that you just couldn't escape.

So now the rest of summer was just beginning to unfold with my brothers birthday, July 4th celebrations, visiting friends and spreading this new found love I was wearing on my chest.

I was so anxious to get back to work. We had one of my favorite back-to-back shows coming up at The Bier Baron in Washington D.C. I would create flyer-like posts on Instagram to promote our shows, using figures like James Dean.

I had a new level of confidence. Hell I could even dance better. I managed to shred a lot of fat from dancing in the woods too. I was inspired to begin chasing a physique I always desired. So I began to work for it.

Chapter IV coming soon.
